A Glimmer of Charity at Cary Dragon Boat Festival: NC Bloom’s Loving Initiative

On September 28, 2024, the 9th Triangle Area Asia Fest & Dragon Boat Race took place at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, North Carolina. Despite the aftermath of a hurricane the day before, the sunny weather brought over 9,000 participants to the event. Amid the cultural celebration, the nonprofit organization NC Bloom stood out as a heartwarming presence—it was the second time the organization had participated in the Cary Dragon Boat Festival, continuing its commitment to philanthropy through action.

For this year’s event, NC Bloom rented two booths, where around 25 volunteers worked together to sell unique handcrafted items and souvenirs for charity. As a nonprofit focused on livelihood support, it holds the core mission of “Improving others’ lives through small actions and helping more people rewrite their life paths”. All funds raised this time will be used to assist groups in need within the community, providing support to solve their urgent life challenges. According to the organization’s leader, returning to the dragon boat festival for the second year not only allowed them to share their charitable vision amid the festive atmosphere but also helped spread kindness among participants from diverse cultural backgrounds.

From the exciting dragon boat races on the water to the enthusiastic explanations by volunteers at the booths, the event served not only as a platform for cultural exchange but also as a link for community goodwill, infusing the warmth of charity into every corner of the celebration.

此次活动中，NC Bloom租用两个摊位，约25名志愿者分工协作，售卖特色手作与周边物品筹措善款。作为聚焦民生帮扶的非营利机构，该组织以“用微小行动改善他人生活，助力更多人改写命运轨迹”为核心宗旨，本次筹得的全部款项将用于帮扶社区内有实际需求的群体，为他们解决生活中的迫切难题提供支持。负责人提到，连续两年参与龙舟节，既借助节庆的热闹氛围传递了公益初心，也让爱心在不同文化背景的参与者间传递。

从水面上激烈的龙舟竞渡，到摊位前志愿者的热情讲解，这场活动不仅是文化交流的平台，更成为社区善意凝聚的纽带，让公益的温暖融入节庆的每一处角落。
